ABOUT RAJIV GANDHI CAMPUS



Teachers of the Campus present a model Vakyartha before the students under the banner Vakyartha Parishad, which is being conducted periodically. Wherein, the teacher presents a particular Shastraic concept followed by discussion session. This paves the way for the students to develop the skill of Vakyartha – the essence of traditional Shastraic learning. The proceedings of the Parishad along with the scholarly papers of other scholars are being printed in book form as VAKYARTHA BHARATI.
The Campus organizes series of Extension Lectures of eminent scholars of Shastras. Topics of the lectures are of inter-disciplinary nature so that various standings on Shastraic concepts are discussed and introduced. This felicitates better comprehension of Shastra Prameya. Six lectures are organized each year on Vyakarana, Sahitya, Mimamsa, Nyaya, Advaita Vedanta, Phalita Jyotisha and Shiksha-Shastra. The lectures delivered by the scholars are brought in a book form for the benefit of the students and the faculty.
Vagvardhini Parishad is a platform for the Campus students for the all round development of academic and various other co-curricular activities. The forum is run by the students’ representatives under the guidance of the faculty members. The Parishad is organized every Thursday wherein students get opportunity to express and exhibit their talent in the field of Shastra, culture etc.
The prime aim of establishing Sansthan was to preserve and propagate ancient Indian Shastras. Keeping this objective in view, the Vice Cahncellor has approved a proposal of organizing a traditional Shastrartha Sabha which is the source of preservation of Shastra tradition and wisdom. This will be organized once in two years in the Campus under the banner of Sri Sri Sri Bharati Theertha Mahaswami Shastrartha Sabha. The modalities for the same are being worked out and scholars from various parts of the country will be invited for the Sabha.
The teachers employed in the campus are renowned and well established in their field of specialization and their Shastraic scholarship has suitably been honoured by various Muths – the traditional sources of Shastraic learning. Many of the faculty members have undergone the rigorous Shastraic testing under the galaxy of scholars. The teachers have also won Young Scholar Award from various institutions. The scholars employed in this campus, even at their young age, are assigned the responsibility of evaluation of Shastraic knowledge in various institutions that itself speaks the scholarship of the faculty.
The students of this campus are well disciplined and always engage themselves in traditional Shastraic learning. Many of the students won prizes at State and National level competitions and Shalaka Parikshas and also National Vijaya Vaijayanti, RS University of Tirupathi Vijaya Vaijayanti and Youth Festival Vijaya Vaijayanti awards. Till date Twentynine of our students won Gold Medals of the Sansthan in the examinations. The students of the campus are getting ranks in various entrance examinations. The campus is known for its traditional learning method and teachers training among similar institutions in India..
The campus has embarked on the mammoth task of procuring and preserving of rare Sanskrit manuscripts and till date it has collected 128 rare manuscripts related to various Shastraic disciplines.
In addition to its regular teaching and training, the campus is also conducting extension activities under the able guidance of Sansthan. The campus is made in charge of Karnataka for popularizing and providing Non-Formal Sanskrit Education. There are more than 35 such centers in the state of Karnataka. Further, the campus organizes Ten-Day Spoken Sanskrit Camps and Sanskrit Shikshaka Prashikshana Camps every year regularly. It also organizes various activities aimed at propagating Sanskrit language, literature, culture etc. during Sanskrit Week Celebrations, which are well received and highly appreciated by the society.
The Campus has a Computer Centre with all necessary facilities required for computer education. All the students at Prak-Shastri and Shastri levels are given computer training. They are taught programming and applications.
The Campus has a well furnished Language Learning Lab consisting 18 computers and necessary facilities required for Learning Various Languages. All the students of Shiksha Shastra are given training.
The Department of Shiksha Shastra is equipped with well furnished Psychology Laboratory. There are equipments for conducting 14 practical on various theories of psychological foundations. Traditional Sanskrit Pupil Teachers are trained in modern methods of psychology and they are encouraged and motivated to take up comparative studies based on the experiences in the laboratory for innovations in teaching, philosophical, and psychological foundations.
The Shiksha Shastra department is also equipped with Educational Technology Laboratory wherein primary equipments for educational innovative practices are available. The lab trains the pupil teachers in using modern technology for teaching Sanskrit via OHP, LCDP, Computer PPT presentations, Slide Projectors etc. The lab also possesses TV with Dish Antenna, Tape Recorder etc..
